GIVEAWAY DAY!!

Vintage Quilt | March 21, 2020 | By

Happy National Quilting day!! On this final treat day, I’ve got a great idea! Last month, I won an EBay auction for not just one quilt top, but 2 for 1 essentially! They are alike, but slightly different, probably made for 2 twin beds or maybe just twins!

I’m going to give the ‘extra’ to one of you! In your FACEBOOK comment today, tell me how you would finish this….by machine, by hand or by check. How it’s finished doesn’t matter, but by commenting you’re agreeing to quilt or have it quilted. I will finish the other and would only like to see it finished by let’s say, December, then share pictures of both finished quilts.

The quilt will be yours to keep! Like all my giveaways, the winner will be chosen by the random number generator about 8pm tonight, March 21. I’m excited to pass one on and we’ll get two different approaches to the same quilt, how fun! Good luck!!

****To be included in the giveaway, comments must be on the Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/kellycline.quilting/ THANKS and have a great day!!

I would border it first with slightly darker green in a older style small print, then mimicking the wedges, I’d do a version of a piano key border and bind in a plain green, similar to the sashing. Quilting would be by machine with rulers and lots f feather work swirling through it to maintain a vintage look. In the border, I’d definitely do feather work with a circular feather in the corner. Some of the work would be following Kelly Cline and Cindy Needham’s work.

I would quilt on my domestic machine, I have playing with rulers and really love it. Beautiful quilt.

I would quilt this for my great-niece, whose 6th birthday next week I am missing because of the quarantine. Thank you!

Well bummer. I’m not on facebook so don’t have a chance of winning. Good luck to those who do though! Was hoping to see you at our guild as you were to be our guest speaker for March. Hope you get rescheduled-was really looking forward to it.

I have a computerized system, so I’m inclined to do a Baptist fan pattern to keep with the vintage vibe. I’ve already posted on FB.

I would put a narrow border in either pink or red to coordinate with the colors in the top then a wider border in muslin about 5” wide. It’s such a sweet quilt top!
