****RULER GIVEAWAY****

Quilting Rulers | January 4, 2018 | By

I FINALLY have a video made on how to use my rulers at a sit down machine. Remember, it’s purely home grown with the hubs filming over my shoulder!! In honor of this amazing feat, I’m giving away a set of my rulers, for longarm or sit down machine use. In the comments below, tell me your sewing goal for 2018. Mine? Sew MORE!

I’ll draw a random name on Sunday evening, Jan.7, about 8ish. If you just can’t wait, these RULERS can be ordered here on my website. I also have another ruler set (sorry, not this giveaway), specifically made for longarmmers, check out these RULERS too!

****There is also a fabulous YouTube video I’ve just watched by Bernina on the use of a ruler foot. If you are still confused, this is a great tutorial!!! Bernina #72 Ruler Foot

Check with your dealer for a ruler foot before attempting to use rulers. Most machines are adaptable to this technique.

My 2018 goal is to make more use of my sit-down machines. I own 3 Berninas and last year they saw little use. For the month of January I am RE-organizing my craft room so as to have 2 of the machines out and set up ready to use at all times!

I have had so much fun learning how to piece quilt tops, it is my therapy. Now I have to learn how to quilt. I now have 7 quilt tops rolled up and stood in a corner!! It is time to learn to quilt them. I have invested in the ruler foot for the machine and a small set of starter rulers, but I have only played with them on little pieces. They are quite intimidating. I have just recently seen yours and they look so much easier, no little keys or grooves to remember. I would love, love, love to try your ruler set.

My 2018 goal is to finish a quilting project before starting a new one. I get so excited when I see other people’s quilts that I feel I have to make one using the same pattern and so I’ll start a new quilt and the previous one won’t get done and it’s a vicious cycle because half way into that one I’ll fall in love with another pattern and start a new project and so I end up with tons of projects halfway done and never end up with a completed quilt. I’ve only been quilting for about a year now and I’m on my sewing machine 24/7 and I only have 1 completed quilt. I think I’m just as addicted to buying new fabrics and templates and rulers as I am the actual quilting process lol. I will say so far I’m doing good on my goal I have picked up were I left off with my repurposed men’s dress shirt quilt and I have not started any other new project so far this year I am determined to get this one finished!

My goal this year is to tackle some quilt kits I have purchased. I have a bad habit during my travels to buy things that catch my eye when visiting quilt shops. Secondly, I’ve got to make 3 I spy quilts for toddler grandchildren. Third, a grand daughter wants to make a quilt. That should be lots of fun!

    2018 goals:
    1. quilt more and make more donation/QOV quilts.
    2. When my mom died, I inherited her quilting stash. She never made quilts for her grandkids. I have one top completed and at the long armer. I want to complete at least one more top this year and maybe start the third and final one.

The rulers look great. I like the small size. I have 15 quilts to quilt. I waited when I bought my longarm to improve my skill, so now I’m trying to finish those UFOs. Of course, I keep making quilts so the progress is slow. Love your quilting and am working on a pillow with my grandmother’s handkerchief quilted on it. Wish me success.

I have several quilts waiting to be quilted one of which is the village quilt. I was looking for a way to add architectural quilting to my houses and fmq’ing to create cloud type patterns to the skies of the houses. These would be a godsend in creating those effects on my regular machine. I am on limited income so buying rulers is last on my list of what I can afford. I am still young to this new addiction of quilting so still in learning phases on a lot of steps and such.
